Giza


Giza is worldly known for being the place where the Ancient Egyptians started their glorious civilization.

Encyclopedias contain details about Giza, it was the first place to witness the erection of the first stone building in history, the pyramids the symbol of glory.

Giza is extended to the Baharia oases.

Giza contains significant treasures of the Ancient Egyptian Civilization. It has the first stone structure to be built in the world. Giza witnessed the birth of Ancient Egyptian Civilization while the world was living in dark ages.

The Pyramids of Giza are still standing in their places as true evidence of the glory of Ancient Egyptians.


Giza includes Menf (meit Raheena village) which was the capital of Ancient Egypt for a long time. Giza was the Capital of Upper Egypt region during the reign of the first dynasty and the second dynasty from

(3000 B.C. to 2687 B.C), It was also the capital during the reign of the old kingdom from(2687 B.C. to 2191 B.C). King Mina (Narmer) the king who united the two regions and the founder of the First Dynasty.

 

The Menf cemetery is situated to the west of the city, it extends from Abu Rawash, the plateau of the pyramids, Zawyet el Aryan, Abu seir, Sakara and Dahshour.

Giza plateau contains the three famous pyramids belonged to dynasty from (2649 B.C. to 2513 B.C.), it also contains the famous statues of Sphinx and its temple and the Sun Ship. Tourists can enjoy the performance of Sound and Light in seven different languages besides the Arabic Language on the pyramids plateau.

Sakara contains the stepped pyramid of King Zossar (The Third dynasty), The Pyramid of King Titi the founder of the sixth dynastg, the pyramid of King Sekhm Khet and the serapioum (a group of underground tunnels used as burial place for the Holy Ibis, and also the pyramid of King Onass.

 

The Pyramid of King Gi the First and King Gi the Second, the pyramid of King Bibi The First and King Bibi the Second, besides the tomb of King Shibeseskaf, one of the latest The Fourth dynasty Kings.

Dahshour is one of the most important archaeological places which is located about ten Kilometers south of Sakara. The most important archaeological sites are: King Senefro the southern pyramid (the bending pyramid 2575 B.C to 2551 B.C.) and the Northern pyramid (the Red Pyramid).

King Senosert the third pyramid (1841 B.C to 1787 B.C.), the pyramid of King Amenmhat the Second 1929 B.C. to 1892 B.C.) The pyramid of King Amenmhat the Third (1844 B.C. -1797B.C.) Meit Rahena contains many archaeological sites such as the Temple of god Bettah, the great statue of Ramsis the second, the statue of Sphnix, the remains of King Merinbettah palace, at Kom El Khalil area. The mummification place for the Holy Ibis, the remains of Isis Palace, and the remains of King Siti the first Kiosk.
